Lucy Ila Stoney (née Thomas)

Born on January 26^th of 1938, peacefully left to be with her Saviour Jesus, with loved ones by her side, at her home in London, Ontario, on Sunday, October 8^th, 2023, at 10:45 a.m., at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Elijah Stoney (November 3^rd, 1936 – March, 26^th, 2009) for 47 years. Gifted daughter of the late Esias Thomas and Late Eloise (née Crowe) Thomas.

Clothed in strength and dignity, Lucy was the loving mother of Gloria Stoney, Marlene Chookomolin, and Madeleine King. Predeceased by her sons William Stoney, Alexander Stoney, Tim Koostachin, and Gregory Koostachin.

Adored grandmother of Joette Lefebvre, Brent Chookomolin, Dena (Missisak) Hunter, Marissa Bois, Jade Hunter, Daylan Chookomolin, Timothy King, Emmylou Chookomolin, Elijah Chookomolin, and to her many noochichimituk/grandchildren from her siblings’ families. Predeceased by her grandchildren J.J. Hunter, Dwayne (Dude) Hunter, and Kathryn Chookomolin.

Dearest great-grandmother of Joy Lefebvre, Maxton (Maghonjosh) Lefebvre, Memphis (Banabus) Hunter-Rysdale, Jerick Lefebvre, Kyle Jr. Linklater, Briannaea (Pinew) Linkater, and Mallex Lefebvre.

Cherished sister of Edna Thomas, Mary Burke, Ernest Thomas, and Adelaide (Jeenahan) Koostachin, and Ila Miles. Predeceased by her siblings Looma Bluecoat, Emily Bluecoat, Gordon Thomas, Geordie Thomas, and Stanley Thomas.

Lucy Stoney was born at Me-ti-kwapo-sibi-sa-si. She was raised in the teachings of her parents on the aski/land. Lucy lived in York Factory, Manitoba, Fort Severn, Ontario, and at Beaver River. Lucy lived a faithful life alongside her husband Elijah, settling in Fort Severn, Ontario, with their children. In 2009, Lucy moved to live with Madeleine King in London, Ontario.
