Margaret ‘Peggy’ Bernardo

September 25, 2023

Passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at McCormick Home in London, Ontario in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Reginald Bernardo. Peggy’s own loving parents, Frances and Timothy J. McInnis, gave her the foundation in life to become the beloved mother of seven children: Janet, Albert (Michelle), Cindy (Saro), Gina (Alberto), Kim (Chris), Mary Ann, and the late Jon Paul; five grandchildren: Geoffrey, Stephanie, Danielle, Lydia, JonPaul; and three great-grandchildren: Hayden, Francesca, and Noah. Sister of Patricia McInnis and Robert McInnis.

Peggy had a lifelong interest in nature and science, and had a caring attitude towards others. She was a gifted free-spirited artist and lover of people. She could and would engage with everyone she met, finding the best in them and always making them feel good about themselves. People gravitated towards her because of this and her ability to converse about anything. Her quick wit could catch you off guard, and no one was immune. Peggy kept these qualities all along, even throughout her toughest moments. How we are going to miss her!

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London on Monday, October 2, 2023. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
