Theresa Irene Thompson
October 7, 1952 - September 4, 2023
Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2023. Theresa is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Hilda Thompson (née Williamson); sister Faye; Williamson Aunts and Uncles; her in-laws Carl and Joyce (née Hannon) Ryan; partner William (Jim) Ryan; and beloved canines Angus, Dillon and Roxie.
Theresa was first and foremost a mom – while relentless with dish time spelling quizzes, she was nurturing in a quiet and stern yet loving and steadfastly loyal way. A lover of children and animals, Theresa was also a talented artist and crafter, avid reader, news hound, video game enthusiast, menthol cigarette lover and Coca-Cola devotee. Often shy and introverted, Theresa experienced the significant losses of her father and sister at an early age which impacted her ability to allow others in. She loved fully, without hesitation and without regret. She was the best mom who taught us to become people who try to make the world better, and give more than we take.
We will remember her for her humour, her love, her criticality, her independence, and fierce sense of loyalty. We will also remember her for her love of woodworking, hugs, her late-night chats, her boundless care (we will never forget vinegar for sunburns, mustard plaster for a chest cold, Vicks on your feet for a fever, and all of the time you spent caring for scrapes, burns, broken bones and broken hearts). We will fondly remember her love of her children, family, friends and those chosen in her life, as well as her never-ending strength, perseverance and grit. We will miss her smile, her expressive eyes, her laugh, her quirkiness, her hugs, her imagination and creativity, and her undying love.
Theresa will forever remain the beloved mother of Jamie Faye Ryan (Mike CoDyre) and Cody Ryan. We are devastated to lose you again. Thank you for giving us one last magical visit and holding our hands. Love you, Mom.

Theresa will be missed. She kept all the staff at Country Terrace on their toes!! She sure keep me hopping when I was the Administrator. I loved her a lot. She made me laugh and cry in our many long conversations. She was a very special lady who I will never forget. My condolences to all the family. Karen
