Marilynn Adele Suzanne LeMay
April 29, 2023
On Saturday, April 29th, 2023, Marilynn Adele Suzanne LeMay (née Belanger), passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side, at the age of 82.
Marilynn is survived by Ronald Oscar Victor LeMay, her husband of 60 years, 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Beloved mother of Greg and Shannon (LeMay) Dravis, Sean and Carolyn (Shanahan) LeMay. Also by son Ronald “Chip” Fredrick LeMay. Missed by her grandchildren: Rebecca, Travis, Brodie, Kendra, Jeremiah, Kyle and Laura (Stark) Dravis, Nick and Courtney (Dravis) Platt, Jose and Deborah (Dravis) Cerdas, Somers and Elizabeth (Dravis) Peat, and Daniel Dravis. Also survived by great-grandchildren: Lyla, Cohen, Violet, Ivory, Opal, Lottie, Jane, Susannah, Elliot, Henry, Sutton, and Blakely.
Born in Cobalt, Marilynn had a lifelong love of the pine-scented forests and deep blue lakes of northern Ontario. She was raised in Windsor and married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie. They raised three children in River Canard and eventually moved the family to Puce.
Marilynn was a stay-at-home-mom but later worked at various jobs until she eventually retired early from Canada Post in Emeryville, to babysit grandchildren full-time. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome with her big, warm hugs and a smile that lit up the room. Her many creative talents included crocheting, sewing, and painting. In fact, they say if you stayed still too long, she may paint you!
Marilynn also had a contagious love of music and dancing. She was willing to turn the kitchen into a dance floor with anyone who wanted to Jitterbug! Always full of fun and laughter. Ron and Marilynn eventually retired and moved to Elliot Lake where they enjoyed the great outdoors and treated the grandchildren to lots of fun memories at the senior campground on Flack Lake. Marilynn also enriched the final hours of many souls as a volunteer with Elliot Lake Palliative Care.
A funeral service will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation an hour prior.
