Roswitha Trgovcevic
March 26, 2023
On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Roswitha Trgovcevic (née Strasser) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Roswitha Trgovcevic was born in Vienna, Austria on July 15, 1941. She was the only child of Joseph and Maria Strasser. She immigrated to Canada with Anton Trgovcevic in 1960. They married on January 7, 1961. Roswitha and Anton built a life in St. Thomas, Ontario. Roswitha’s greatest joy was being a mother to son, Richard and loving Omi to grandchildren, Kendryck and Eric.
Roswitha was a hard working and selfless person. She never stopped working and supporting anyone in need. In Austria, Roswitha was a talented tailor. After arriving in Canada, Roswitha worked in tobacco before becoming a loyal employee of Imperial Clevite Inc. in St. Thomas for 25 years. Upon her retirement she became a dedicated volunteer at St. Thomas General Hospital.
Roswitha loved being in the sun and by the water. Her biggest smiles were expressed when she would recall her time spent with family and friends at the trailer in Long Point. Playing at the beach with her grandchildren, walking the dogs, boating and of course having a glass of wine were her moments of pure happiness.
Roswitha was an incredible tailor. She made beautiful clothes and costumes for Kendryck and Eric. She would always lend out her talents to family and friends, making curtains, tailoring clothing and mending items.
Roswitha was also an incredible cook and baker; no one was ever hungry after one of her meals. You were fortunate if you were ever a guest at Roswitha’s table for her amazing schnitzel dinners. Never a birthday, holiday or special occasion was not celebrated without an abundant feast with delectable desserts that were tirelessly prepared by Roswitha.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with procession to the Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Humane Society London & Middlesex.

Dear Tony, Richard and family…On behalf of Dr. Bezuidenhout, Joanne and myself I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all of you. We will miss Roswitha’s beautiful smile and her visits in the office. Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
My deepest condolences to Tony , Richie and the grandchildren. Roswitha was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, always concerned for others not herself. . A heart of gold, visiting the lake was always a pleasure to see her and Tony, was like that added sense of home with you there.
My condolences to all the family she will be miss
It’s not often in life you have the chance to spend time with a special person and Roswitha was one of those people. She was always a pleasure to be around and made each person around her special. Many memories are held tight and she will be deeply missed. Joanne/Shari/Darren
Many weekends spent with Roswitha in Long Point, 35 years worth of wonderful summer memories. I wont ever forget her smile xo
We will always have the memories of stopping by the trailer for a "quick" visit sometimes turning into a dinner or birthday celebration with the family. Roswitha always made us feel welcomed and loved (even with the occasional scolding for not dropping by more often). Our condolences to Tony and the family. She was a special lady
