Dolores “Dodie” Ann Tesar (née Robinson)

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest Peter Tesar. Dodie was born in Kingston, Ontario on April 15, 1930 and was adopted by Bessie and Floyd Robinson in December 1930. She enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Etobicoke, Ontario and went on to attend the University of Toronto where she earned a Bachelor of English degree, with Honors, in June 1953. She began a career as a copy writer for the Simpsons catalog where she met Ernest, a merchandise buyer for the store, and her future husband. Dodie and Ernest married on February 12, 1955 in Toronto and had their son Peter. Shortly after, they moved to Montreal where their daughter Cathy was born. They then moved to Oakville, Ontario to raise their children. Dodie soon began work at the Added Touch where she stayed for over 25 years until retirement. Dodie loved tending to her magnificent garden, attending the Stratford Festival, and taking trips abroad, but most of all she loved spending time at home in the company of her husband, Ernest. Dodie is survived by her daughter Cathy Pollock (John) and son Peter Tesar (Gail); grandchildren Craig Pollock (Esteleen), Katy Pollock (Ryan), Nicolas Pollock (Nadine), Chris Tesar, Roberta Tesar (Reade), and Patricia Tesar; and great-grandchildren Ethan, Euan, Abigail, Ruby, Stella, Kameel, Sitka, and Sloane. Dodie did not want a funeral, and will be laid to reside beside her husband Ernest. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requestes any who wish to send a donation to the Stratford Festival in memory of Dodie.
