Denis Illingworth Watson

August 23, 1927 - February 2, 2023

Denis passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario in his 96th year, after living a full and happy life. Denis was predeceased by Joyce, his loving wife of 67 years. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Mark), and son, Ian (Terry). Loving grandfather to Brad (Nalani), Leah (Jesse), Jessie (Scott) and Jason (Emma), and proud great-grandfather to Deacon.

Denis was born in Belfast, Ireland and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland before immigrating to Canada in 1947, where he joined the RCMP, reaching the rank of Superintendent. The RCMP took Denis, Joyce and family to a number of postings across Canada. In 1979 Denis and Joyce returned to London, Ontario and enjoyed a long, busy, and happy retirement. Many thanks to the team at Longworth Retirement Residence, in particular to Roy, who always took the time for a friendly visit with Denis. At Denis’ request, there will not be a formal celebration of life, however, all friends are invited to raise a wee glass of single malt scotch in his honour to a life well lived.
