I did not know Chloe very well, however here are a few things I noticed and loved about her in our interactions: - her warm smile that felt like it came from her heart - her bubbliness and enthusiasm for life; it was contagious - her strong, loving bond with Jason, Mel, Tanja, Brenda and Dewar - it was so inspiring to see the deep, playful friendship between her and her dad, Jason - her sincerity - her relationship with Mel as they chatted together in the kitchen - she had a deep caring energy about her .... Today's Celebration of Life was so heartwarming with the expressions of love and stories. I am glad I had an opportunity to participate. Hugs to Jason, Tanja, Mel, Wolfgang, Brenda & Dewar. With love and gratitude. Sandra

Tribute to Chloe from your next-door neighbour As your next door neighbour for most of your life, I have many memories. From you and Mel as little girls jumping on the backyard trampoline for hours... or hanging out giggling, doing cartwheels and cheers... to those times when you came to our front door gingerly balancing a steaming plate of food that Tanja made us for dinner. Your sweet little 6 year old voice saying... “Ummmm, here’s some dinner from my mom.” Other times we showed you and Mel how to unlock our tricky back door when we were on a trip and you came to water our houseplants for a week and make some money on the side. When you and Mel came for a sleepover in our trailer, it warmed my heart to watch you two with your pillows, stuffies and sleeping bags excitedly entering your cosy little home for the night. As the years went on, we saw your interest and skill grow in gymnastics and cheerleading. It was fun seeing you and your dad challenge each other in crazy dance moves. As fun and sweet as you could be, we also saw you struggle in your teen years. There were those times when you were wrapped up in your own world, too cool for school and didn’t smile or say “hi” when we saw you at home or passing each other on the street. A couple of weeks ago, you and I happened to be getting in or out of our vehicles at the end of our driveways at the same time and you flashed me that big un-self-conscious smile of yours... just like you used to do when you were little. Amazing!, I thought to myself at the time, and little did I know that would be the last time I would ever see you. I’m grateful for that brief exchange. I know there’s first impressions, but that was a last impression that I will definitely remember you by. Rest in peace, sweet Chloe, and enjoy the reunion with your birth mom. Peace, love and strength to your family who remain here and hold you in a loving embrace... Tanja, Jay, Melody & extended family... your friends and all of those who love you.
