Grandma you were such a wonderful, vibrant, special, caring & especially LOVING woman !! You will be missed deeply by me, your son David Abel & my mom Michelle Abel. You never stopped fighting until the very end you are the true definition of a warrior. You had a heart of gold and a lovely spirit. I’m so glad that I had the pleasure of knowing you and having you be my special Grandma !! I will cherish our special moments until the day I die. I’m so sad but yet so happy you’re in heaven with Grandpa and now you can be in peace and no longer in pain. I hope you’re happy in heaven with the heavenly creator. Thank you for loving me and making your special lunches and for the amazing moments we had swimming in your pool with your beautiful garden !!
I had the pleasure of bowling with Hilda for a couple of years in the Huff N Puff league on Friday afternoons at Fleetway. I was teased (all in fun of course) a few times for letting Hilda use my bowling balls. She was a special lady and I was amazed at her accuracy of hitting the pins even though her site was't the best. She would ask me what pins were left. She then adjusted her position on the lane to proceed to knock them down. If she missed, she would say "was I close". Yes she was. Rest In Peace Hilda. My condolences to her family and her many friends.

I met Hilda many years ago through my father. We became very close I travelled from Cambridge on numerous occasions to visit. We talked regularly. I’m going to miss our chats sometimes for an hour or more. Unfortunately I’ve moved to Nova Scotia so I won’t be able to attend. My thoughts are with the family. There will never be another Hilda she was one of a kind. . She told me she didn’t want people to be sad. I sad people will be sad because you were loved. We also know you had a great long life and that you would know when it was your time. You were loved and you will be missed every day.
