Robert ‘Bob’ Louis Nelson
November 30, 2022
In his 96th year, on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Bob Nelson, resident of Chartwell Long Term Care Facility and formerly of Lambeth, passed away peacefully, with family by his side. Mourning his passing are his loving wife of 73 years, Connie, and children Linda (Michael) Hall and Brad (Karen) Nelson. He also leaves behind grandchildren Aaron (Aimee), Adam (Erin), Jennifer (Trevor) and Shannon (Jason), and great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Ainsley, Tyler, James and Ava.
Bob was very proud of his work at Union Gas and the opportunity to serve as president of the London Home Builders’ Association. Family and golf were Bob’s great passions. In retirement, Bob golfed as often as he could; whether it was during the summer months at many courses in and around London or through the winter months in Florida where he and Connie enjoyed many years at Schalamar Creek.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Private interment at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bob are asked to consider The Salvation Army.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Chartwell Long Term Care and eternal gratitude to Diana for the care and compassion she has shown to Bob in his final years.

Mr. Nelson was one of the finest men I met in my teenage years playing minor hockey in Lambeth. His guidance and wisdom helped a young man who lost his mother at 17. I will always remember Mr. Nelson fondly. I never did get the chance to thank him for all he did.
Jim and I send our condolences to the Nelson family. We so enjoyed the visits at our house for an evening meal when Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob, chauffeured by Betty Shields, were enroute to Lanigan to see the rest of the crew. Family stories and golf stories were shared. May he rest in Peace

Dear Connie, So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My sympathies to you and your family, Thinking of you with love.
So many wonderful memories with this incredible man, a true friend to many who were fortunate enough to have known him. Everyone who knew Bob will appreciate the dedication that he had to his family, Union Gas, and the LHBA. He was blessed that Connie was always behind him, supporting him, in all that he undertook. He was at the same time a friend that you partied with, and a person you looked up to and wanted to emulate.
Bob was a wonderful mentor and motivator when I served on the board at LHBA and as president for two years. He was passionate about his participation in all things to do with LHBA and, certainly, about his love of golf. Bob didn't worry about hitting the ball as far as others because he was incredibly accurate and made a lot of us, attending LHBA golf tournaments, look like duffers. And, along with his many skills, Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and was always a pleasure to be with. I have, and will, continue to remember him as he was - simply the best.
Bob was a wonderful and down to earth guy — no airs about him just sincerity. He was the first one in London to interview me for a role at UG back in 1988 and he made me feel like UG was a place I’d like to work…sorry to hear of his passing, I’ll remember him with a smile!
