Peacefully at the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, Janet Harvey, at age 77. Loved and cherished by her son Chris (Jane), and her grandchildren William and Emma, all of London. Sadly missed by her sister Ruthanne Poulin Thain (Doug) of Blenheim, her brother Bill (Treena) of Chatham, brother-in-law Chris Coombs (Phyllis) of London, step-mother Frances Harvey of Chatham and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Florence Harvey, her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Max Smith, her sister Merrilee Coombs and brother-in-law Frank Poulin.
Janet Lynne Harvey was born on December 2, 1944 and grew up in Morpeth, where her parents owned and operated a restaurant and gas station. She moved to Chatham and worked for many years at local grocery stores. She relocated to London in 2000 and was the bakery and deli manager at Price Chopper until her retirement.
Janet was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be remembered for the love and pride she had for her grandchildren. She rarely missed a hockey game or a school event. She was a terrific cook and was always ready with a meal and snacks for the kids.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. A live stream of the service is available for those unable to attend in person.

Janet’s family wishes to thank Dr. Lam and Dr. Luke for their support during Janet’s illness. A huge thanks to the staff at Mount Hope on Marian Villa 1 and St. Mary’s 5 for their kindness and care.

Dear Chris and family, So sorry to hear of your loss. Janie was a lovely, generous person who loved having her family over from England. We had very happy times with her, attending baseball games watching Chris when he was a young boy. Keep your memories in your heart and she will always be I with you.
Dear Chris, Jane, William and Emma Janet was a dear family member, and we loved being with her at celebrations and gatherings. She was always generous and could find the perfect gift and make the most delicious meals at Christmas time. Her family brought her great joy. Dear Chris, Jane, William and Emma, I am so sad to hear about Janet. She started out as my boss but ended up as my dearest friend. She always talked about how proud she was of each one of you. She had a heart of gold. I know she will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
