Survived by his wife of 32 years, Miriam (née Sterling) Warren of London, Ontario; sons Jeff (Kathy) Warren of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Greg (Lily) Warren of London, Ontario. I have nothing but great memories of John. As Greg’s friend, I met John from time to time and his cheerful disposition left an impact on me. He had an open heart, a big spirit and a warmth that radiated throughout the room. I had the pleasure of visiting him at the cottage with Greg. He kept the tradition of sharing that space with Family and friends. To him the cottage was a communal retreat. He understood the most important part of it was family and friends. We have lost a truly good man.
As Jeff said recently “you don’t get to pick who your uncle will be”, but even if you could, I wouldn’t have chosen any differently. Uncle John was the best. Whether it was holding up two juice glasses and looking through them like binoculars, or jumping in the lake, fully clothed, to wash his coveralls, or using his knife upside down and complaining about the lousy cutlery, Uncle John was always making us laugh. Every year we would spend time together at the cottage and all the family occasions (always at Swiss Chalet). Uncle John was a great role model and someone to look up to. We will all miss him very much but will always remember the good times we shared together.

John was always such a positive person. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a very warm heart. I think anybody who interacted with him should consider themselves lucky to be around a person like him.
