Virginia Mary Frank

On the 9th of October 2022, at Westmount Gardens Long Term Care Facility, we said goodbye to Virginia Mary Kaelin Frank. Virginia was born on the 8th of July 1920 in Peace River Alberta, to Louis and Myrtle Kaelin. Over more than a century Virginia touched those around her with her wit, charm, grace and intelligence. With a loving heart and a curious mind, she brought spirit and wonder to all that captivated her: art and painting, philology and philosophy, yoga and dancing. She taught her family by example: to approach life with excitement, openness, acceptance and humor, built on a foundation of love and understanding. She crafted homes filled with books and art, graceful elegance, and calm serenity. And of course we can’t forget her collection of more than 200 cookbooks, all very well used and very carefully researched!

Virginia was predeceased by her parents and siblings Margaret, Edward and William. She was the loving and beloved mother of Gayle Virginia DeLancey, Brenda Joyce Smith, Bradford Douglas Frank, and Gregory William Frank. Grandmother to Kent, Colin and Kelly; Paul and Douglas; Ericson and Hailey; and Benjamin. Great-grandmother to Christine and Michael; Calvin, Brendan, Maddison, Emma, and Rebekah; Corey, Joel, Rachel, Kylie and Celina; Kate and Evan; Elsie and Abigail; Addison, Ephraim and Ahern; and Lawrence. Great-great-grandmother to Victoria. She will forever be in the hearts of us all, our spouses and partners.

Virginia left us peacefully on Sunday afternoon. The family wishes to thank the team at Westmount Gardens for their care and professionalism, as well as the staff at Queens Village Retirement Home. A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.
