Herbert ‘Herb’ D. Bryant

October 6, 2022

Passed peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the age of 96. Herb was born in Montreal, and following war service in the Canadian Navy, graduated from McGill University in 1948 and the University of Windsor Law School in 1975. He moved to Windsor and thereafter to Winnipeg, Calgary, Oshawa and back to Windsor. He served as Vice Chair for the Ontario Racing Commission, President of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Advertising and Sales Club. Herb was a longtime member of Beach Grove Golf Club, and with that came a lifelong attachment to the game. Beloved husband of the late Beverly (2011). Loving father of Donald (Cheri), Debra (Hugh, predeceased 2018) of Mesa, Arizona. Treasured grandfather of Amy (Troy), Heidi (Paul) and Erin, and great-grandfather of Ellen, Ian, Ruby and Lucy. Jack and I were happy to reconnect with Herb and Bev when we moved to Windsor in 1965 when Jack accepted a call to Westminster church . Bev arrived at our door with a lovely plant to welcome us. Herb interceded on our behalf when a much- needed part for our trusty Pontiac could not be found anywhere ! I know that he was highly respected among the G.M. dealers. Herb left this world a happier place when he was prepared to "put himself out " for others. .

To the Bryant family. Doc and I have/had many wonderful memories of walking, playing golf, and going out to dinner with Herb and Bev. Herb and Bev were great friends. Herb had a great sense of humour and was always a joy to be with. Herb was a loving, caring husband and I/we miss them both dearly. Please accept my heartfelt condolences at your time of loss.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Herb. I have fond memories of Herb and Bev when they were living at the Carriage House. May he rest in peace, reunited with Bev. May the memories you have bring you peace and comfort. Dale

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Herb. We always enjoyed seeing him at extended family events. He was such a nice man, very interesting to talk to, and very humble about all his accomplishments. Don and Cheri we know he will be so missed by you both, and all the family. It is nice to know that he will be with his beloved Bev once again. You are all in our thoughts as you mourn this loss.
