Robert ‘Bob’ Walter Tisdale III

Peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Victoria Hospital, Robert ‘Bob’, of London, Ontario passed away in his 85^th year due to complications from COVID-19. Born in Simcoe, he went to Delhi Public and Delhi District Secondary School (known as “Tiz”), and was active in many sports. He attended and graduated from The University of Western Ontario where he studied medicine and later biology and was a member of UWO Sigma Chi fraternity. His studies sparked his passion for teaching biology at Delhi District Secondary School and later was head of the Science Department at Waterford District Secondary School. After teaching he became a real estate broker and property appraiser. Bob was President of Norfolk Family Services 1979-1981 and Ontario President of the CAS (Children’s Aid Society) in 1982. He was a member of the American Right of Way Association, Norfolk Schools of Agriculture Advisory Committees, President of Norfolk OSSTF (Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation), active in Simcoe Little Theatre, member of the Rotary Club, Treasurer of Evergreen Cemetery Board and active in politics. After he retired, he obtained his AZ license and hauled industrial goods across North America and became certified in Holistic medicine. He loved life, his family, nature, his dog Riley, learning new things and was fiercely independent. A master of spreadsheets on everything from finances to healthcare, he was always busy organizing his files.

Bob is survived by his daughter Kim (David) Lupal and son Rob (Allison); grandchildren Kristy (Todd Wenzel), Matt (Crystal), Aidan & Alyssa; great-grandchildren Drew, Kyle, Peyton, Violet and Sloane; brother William ‘Bill’ Bruce Tisdale (Shirley); and sister Florence Blair Tisdale Sloat (Larry). He was preceded in passing by his father Dr. R W Tisdale (Walt), mother Mary Bruce Jackson Tisdale, and brother John Bartholemew ‘Bart’ Tisdale.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and caretakers at Victoria Hospital ER and ICU who were extremely compassionate, attentive, patient and provided Dad with the utmost dignity. We are grateful for their exceptional care.
