Edith Louisa Keating (née Whittington)
June 11, 1930 - May 1, 2022
To quote Mom…..”There’s not a cloud in the sky!” Even though our hearts are sad we cherish and celebrate our Mom and how she always fed our spirits with blue skies.
Mom’s first marriage to our Dad, Blair Louis Keating, for 55 years was full of many blessings and noteworthy accomplishments. They were truly each other’s best friend. Family, faith, love, hope, charity and hardwork were exemplified. Mom’s strength, positive outlook and guidance were her greatest gifts to us all.
After Dad passed away in 2005, Mom was again blessed when she met her second husband, Norman Watterton. Norm was such a gentleman and graced Mom’s life for ten years.
Dad and Mom leave quite a legacy. Six children- Brenda Zadorsky (Bill), Blair Wallace (Wally) Keating (Carol), Belinda Keating McLeod (Daryl), Bevan Keating (Kira), Brent Keating (Emily), Beth Denise Keating and honourary daughter Doreen McDonald (Mark). Mom will be forever remembered by her 25 grandchildren Bill Jr (Sarah) Zadorsky, Katrina Zadorsky Spence, Becca Zadorsky, Justin (Celine) Zadorsky, Blair (Joanne) Keating, Ryan (Jeannette) Keating, Jason Keating, Sean (Heather) Corcoran, Sarah (Derek) Dalziel Corcoran, Stephanie (Dylan) Fleming, Megan McLeod, Tara McLeod, Alex McLeod, Brock Whittington Keating, Blythe Keating, Lauren Keating, Dani Keating, Leah Keating, Randi Lynn Keating (deceased), Kieanna Keating, Taelir Keating, Randi Keating, Tehya Keating, Tiffany (Tim) McDonald, Travis McDonald and her 22 great grandchildren.
A large family was not foreign to Mom as she was one of eleven children. She leaves behind her beloved sister Doris(Jack) Black.
Much appreciation for the kindness and care shown to Mom by the staff of Neurology/Palliative 7th floor U.H. as well as the community of Oakcrossing: People Care.

I met Edith through Middlesex Lodge, where Norm was a very active member and served as our treasurer. They attended a number of Lodge functions - our family luncheons, Divine Services at the Church of the Epiphany, etc. together, and she was truly a very lovely, kind person. When I would visit (to get Norm to sign cheques) she would always invite me in, and ask about my dad, and my family. I hope that happy memories, and the love of family and friends helps support you during this sad time.
Grandma, Im sorry I couldn’t get one last hug and say goodbye. You were the best grandma a girl could wish for and I’m so honoured that I could see you live with so much love surrounding you for the 16 years I’ve been around! I will always cherish the many fun and loving moments I got with you and I will forever be wishing I could get that last hug from one of my favourite people. Til we meet again, I hope Randi-Lynn, grandpa, and grandpa Norm are keeping you the bests of company.
