To Rhea's family - My condolences, she was a woman a woman with character, much loved by all who knew her. We were her friends from the time Curves opened at Cherry Hill Mall. We all started about the same time and we all had lots of laughs, met for coffee on Fridays, talked about everything. She was amazing in her few years before Covid - when she did the Plank - she held her position longer than most people who were exercising . We loved her, we talk about her every time we get together. We will miss her. She was one of the best.
I have know Rhea for over 25 years as we both attended OPC. Memorable person with a great heart. My condolences to the family this time.
My deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Rhea. I first met Rhea in the 1950's & 60's when I was teaching. She was a dedicated and caring person that gave her best to students and staff. In later years we renewed our friendship at O.P.C., she was a Christian lady of high principals and a sincere friend. She will be missed. Rest in peace Rhea. Shirley Cobban
So sad to see this today..dear lady gave me my first job with the Hearing Impaired Program at Lorne .Ave…in 1972… taught me lots and was extremely thankful to have known her!
My sincerest sympathy to Rhea's family . Rhea was truly a gifted teacher and consultant. She worked tirelessly for special children to enable them to be the best that they could be and she worked with parents to inspire them to strive for success for their children and settle for nothing less. She cared deeply for kids and her staff. I was extremely fortunate to be mentored and trained by Rhea in all aspects of her responsibilities at the London Board of Education. She guided and encouraged me to accept her role as consultant when she retired. Without a doubt, hers were big shoes to fill! I remember watching her work one on one with children and frequently remarked to her that "she could teach a rock to talk!". She was truly amazing to watch and her dedication to children was incredibly inspiring. I feel blessed and honoured to have worked along side of Rhea for so many years and been given the privilege to carry her legacy forward. Thank you.
Rhea was a gentle soul who cared so much about others, and gave of herself so freely. Over tea, such lovely stories she told of her life, so inspiring and so meaningful. Rhea always asked "how are you doing? How is your mother?.. A truly genuine and authentic person I had the privilege of getting to know, though only later in life. I would have enjoyed knowing her more in her younger years as I think she would have been quite feisty, though she never lost that. Bless you Rhea.
I have been honoured with the privilege of enjoying Rhea’s company the last four years during our many visits. She inspired many teachers during her years of teaching in the classroom and as a consultant. She warmly touched her family and community. Rhea left a legacy of her selfless commitment during her many years of endless volunteering at the Oakridge Presbyterian Church. It was heartfelt to see the many members who honoured her with warm greetings during our trips to Sunday services. Sincerely, Debby Albin, Retired Women’s Teacher Organization, London Middlesex Branch
