Edith ‘Freda’ Elliott

In her 96th year, Freda passed away peacefully at Henley Place on Friday, March 26, 2021. She was the only child of Robert and Edith Daugherty and grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan. She lived in many Canadian cities due to her husband’s work at 3M, but ultimately settled in London, Ontario, in February 1960. Freda is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lucy Wilkinson, of Vancouver, B.C.; her cousin, Mona (Bev) Brooks, of Asquith, SK; as well as several cousins in Saskatchewan. Freda will be remembered by her friends: Lois, Wayne, Brenda, Bob, and Debora. Predeceased by her husband, Earle W. Elliott (1974); her son, Robert Elliott (2013); and her dear friend, Al (2012). A special thank you to the staff at Henley Place and also to her close friends who showed her love, kindness, and compassion throughout her life. Cremation has taken place. An inurnment will be held on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive, London. Registration is required to attend the inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Freda are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex.
Please note: as per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance numbers will be restricted. Please be aware that COVID-19 protocols are in place which may preclude some from being able to attend and masks are mandatory.

I worked with Freda for many years at Western. She was truly a lovely person. My condolences to her family. RIP Freda
