William ‘Bill’ George Redman

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, Bill Redman, of London passed away, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (née Dickson), for 29 years. Loving father of Mike Redman, and Paul (Janet) Redman, all of London; stepfather of Laura Pollard, Gail Thomas, and Scott (Debbie) Dickson, all of London; and Rob Dickson, of Raleigh, North Carolina. Proud grandfather of Lisa Jackson, Chris Redman, and Brad Redman, all of London; Neil Pollard, of Parker, Colorado; Lyndsay Pollard, of Hamilton; Blaine Dickson and Charlie Dickson, both of Raleigh, North Carolina; and great-grandfather of Owen and Evan Jackson, of London; Noelle, London, and Maggie Pollard, of Parker, Colorado; and Norah and Jack Patchett, of Hamilton, Ontario. Bill was predeceased by his former wife, Stella Redman; his parents, Albert and Louise Redman; his brothers, Albert, Bud, and Jack Redman; and his sisters, Marjorie Tilford and Audrey Fenwick. Bill grew up in London and graduated from H.B. Beal Tech School. He started his business career at age 12, by delivering for grocery and drug stores, and selling newspapers on the corner. He later enlisted in the army. Bill started his own machine shop at the age of 29, then continued on with Redman Machine, Pre Delco Machine and Tool Limited, and London Precision Machine & Tool Limited. He enjoyed a successful business career and retired in 1994. Bill enjoyed spending time with his card-playing and golf buddies. He was a member of Sunningdale Golf & Country Club, and Highland Country Club. He and Margaret enjoyed several winters in Sarasota, Florida, at Laurel Oak Country Club. The family would like to give sincere thanks to Dr. Dorli Herman, Dr. Elana Matusa, the doctors and staff of the Trauma Unit at Victoria Hospital, and Fox Hollow Retirement Residence for their unforgettable attention shown to Bill. A private family service will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider the Lung Health Foundation.

Bill and I have known each other for many years. We played golf and gin rummy at both Sunningdale and Highland Country Clubs. Bill was a true friend, generous, kind and a lot of fun to be with. I'll surely miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Margaret, Mike and all the family.
I had the privilege of knowing Bill Redman for the last 32 years. I had several meetings with Bill, but spoke to him often, at least once a week and sometimes more frequently. It was an honour to be Bill's Financial Advisor. It was also an honour to attend his funeral. As many people have previously stated, he was a true gentleman. He could be tough at times and challenge you, but he was extremely fair, sincere and full of integrity/character. Bill's penmanship was excellent. It was similar to Arnold Palmer's, who would never sign an autograph unless it was completely legible. I had not seen Bill in over one year since Covid commenced. I said to him 2 weeks ago that I missed him and looked forward to seeing him soon. Unfortunately, I never got that chance. I certainly am a better person for having worked with Bill the last 3-plus decades. I was extremely fortunate and I am going to miss him. Sincerely, Doug Berk

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. I met Bill while working at London Precision and always enjoyed his company and conversation. He will be missed.
My Father (Joe Senger) and Uncle (Karl Kruspel) worked for Bill at Redman Machine for many many years and always spoke very highly of him.. my deepest sympathy for all the familie at this very difficult time..He was a great Man and will be missed by many.
