Peter Linton McBain

February 21, 2021

March 25th, 1952 – February 21st, 2021

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Peter Linton McBain passed away in his 69th year, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.  Beloved husband of 45 years to Donna.  Dearly loved father to his two daughters – Jennifer (Carm) and Kathryn (Dustin).  Loving grandfather to his five grandsons – Owen, Adrian, Noah, Ethan and baby G (due in April).  Cherished brother of Linda and Paul. He will be fondly remembered by family, including sister-in-law Judi, brother-in-law Bob, sister-in-law Rosemary and many nieces, nephews and their families. Peter was predeceased by his parents Marguerite and Grant McBain, his brother David and his brother-in-law David Jay. He will be missed by his many work colleagues from his lengthy career in Human Resources, his friends on the golf course and his furry best friend Max.  Peter was an avid and loyal Western Football Fan and Alumnus of the University. He rarely missed a game and the parking lot tailgating community will surely feel his absence this upcoming season. #uwonotwu

As per Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (due to current Covid restrictions).

Donna, Jen and Kate would like to extend a special thank-you to Tony from ParaMed and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, especially nurses Carlie, Fiona and Hope, for going above and beyond in caring for Peter and their family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice of London or the Humane Society London & Middlesex would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Dear Donna, Jenn and Kate: We are shocked and saddened to learn of Peter's passing. I first met Peter way back in 1976 when we were both beginning our careers at Ford Motor. For the next 15 years he was a trusted workmate, my boss for a few years and most of all a valued friend. We look back with fondness at the times we spent with you and Peter and your family. Unfortunately we drifted apart over the years and regrettably I have not seen Peter for several years. I have many fond and lasting memories of our time together as workmates and of our shared love of sports...especially the Cincinnati Reds. Our thoughts are with you , Jenn, Kate and the entire McBain family in your time of sorrow Mike & Adele.

When I first started advising Peter years ago as HR-counsel to Accuride, I was just a young associate at our firm. I may have been the lawyer in the room, but Peter was always generous with his wealth of HR experience. Always a consummate professional, his honest, practical and fair-minded approach made it a pleasure to work with him. He even managed to find a way complement something about my golf game = which is no easy feat. Peter was a trusted colleague and valued friend. Sincerest condolences to Donna and Peter's large and growing family.
