My Oma and Opa were friends of Lilly and Frank, and they would take me and my brother to Kleiber's Delicatessen way back when it was in the old market. I have many fond memories of Tante Lilly from childhood, and while I hadn't seen her in many years, this picture of her and her smile just warm my heart because she clearly hadn't changed a bit. What a lovely lady. My condolences and much love to other friends and family.

I am so very sad to hear of Lilly's passing and extend my condolences to her family. I met Lilly for the first time in 1986, happy to find a store where I could find my German food treats and even happier to meet a woman from my hometown and in the early 90s I worked for her at Kleibers . Lilly was quite a character with a heart of gold, she always had time to listen to her customers and friends, offering treats and comfort. I admired her strength, her work ethic and her willingness to help out when needed. She had courage and the perseverance to make a new life for herself and her nephew in a new country after the war. Lilly, you will be remembered very fondly by me and so many other people who's lives you touched over the years.

Lilly, we have fond memories of you, as each week our family would visit Kleiber's Delicatessen in anticipation, and you always chatted with us and had such delicious treats to offer - and always a piece of Wurst to try. We know that the last years have been hard for you, and we also know that you are in a much better place now. Snuggly and warm and protected!!! You are in our prayers - Gott behuete Dich, Lilly. Dear family and all friends of Lilly, It is with sadness, that I just found that Lilly left us and rejoin Frank. I met Lilly when I was a student at Western. Lilly provided me a good sandwich that energized my hungry stomach. Knowing Lilly since, I continually saw her sharing food with many of us and with her thousand of different animals to feed. She had always something in her pocket, purse, plastic bag or in a box to deliver to someone. She was helping, listening, encouraging and of a great generosity. We had plenty smiles and laughs all around with her "dirty" jokes. We had a good time together, thank you. I shall miss you.

Dear family and friends I am very sorry for your loss. My father Leonard Bonk was good friends of Lilly and Frank. He owned and worked at the Strand Billiards across the street from the market on King. He would "deliver the paper" to Frank and Lilly every day for many years. He would discuss the Leafs and Bluejays with Frank and Lilly would give him a treat now and then for his efforts. At Christmas my father would create an elaborate card for Frank and Lilly that would usually involve old pictures from the free press. It usually took him several days sometimes weeks to arrive at the finished card. In return he would receive more treats and sometimes a wooden nutcracker. My family at Christmas time proudly displays the small army of these wooden soldiers every year. This year I came across a coffee mug with Lilly and my Dads picture on it. My dad has a Santa hat on. Which led me to wondering how Lilly was doing? Not having communicated with her since my mother passed away in 2008. I was saddened with my search results and the news of her passing. She will be sadly missed but always remembered for her kindness and generosity especially at Christmas.
