Marion Theresa Campbell
October 27, 2020
Surrounded by her family, Marion Theresa Campbell (Cameron, Kennedy), of London, Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the age of 88. Marion was born to Archie and Mary Cameron on June 26, 1932 in Midland, Ontario. Her sense of adventure took her to Alberta, where she married and raised seven children. Eventually returning to Ontario, the Kennedy family settled in London where Marion continued to thrive as a wife, mother and career woman. She is predeceased by both parents, her stepmother Marg, her sister Imogene, her brother John, her son Martin and her daughter Melody. Marion will be forever loved and treasured by Jim Campbell, her husband of 25 years. Her surviving children: Michael Kennedy (Evelyn), Maureen Kennedy-Killeen (Phil), Mary Barrick (Ken), Michele Kennedy and Margot Kennedy will always cherish their beautiful Mom. Marion is lovingly remembered by her baby brother Rod Cameron (Colleen), of Strathmore, Alberta and her cousin Lyle (Dorothy), of St. Thomas, Ontario. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life: Greg, Patrick, Sarah, Peter (Shannon), Michael, Erica, Laura, Christine; Avery, Branwyn, Ryan, Lauren and newborn Adelyn. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Judy and her husband Jim’s children, Jay (Donna), Lisa, and step-grandchildren Sydney and Max. Also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews on the Cameron side. Marion was very proud of and deeply loved all of her family. She lived a full and healthy life, loved the sunshine and spent several winters in Florida. Marion loved to golf, play bridge, shop, read, drink wine, and eat good food, but her most favourite pastime was being with family and friends. Long-time special friends Barbara, Cheryl, Lou, Lee Anne & Jerry, Ellen & Murray, and Jan & Herbie brought great joy to her life. We are eternally grateful to the compassionate nurses, frontline staff and medical team on the 7th floor stroke unit at University Hospital. Their gentle and respectful care ensured that Marion’s dignity was preserved and her passing was peaceful. They are an amazing team. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The family welcomes friends to view the service via livestream. To say that were sad is such an understatement, but we will always cherish the friendship we had with this wonderful lady! She was always cheerful and ready for anything. We shared so many memories with her and Jim, whether it was on the golf course, the bridge table or day trips in Florida, we always had a good time! We'll forever miss your sweet smile and loving disposition.
There are no words that can convey the sadness that we feel at this time. We will miss our dear dear friend Marion and her and Jim's visit here in our little town. We share good times working at University Hospital, times at each others homes and many good times together. Marion was a wonderful, happy, beautiful, intelligent and caring special lady. Hard times never got her down. She rose above them and succeeded. She was my hero. Love you my special friend.
