Surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, Randall ‘Randy’ Alexander Fisher, of London, Ontario, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Sarnia on October 28, 1952. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and F. Rose Fisher; and sister Joanne. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Patti; siblings Cathy (Gord) Currie and Ken Fisher (Carla); nephews Jamie, Preston, Rory and Bennet; nieces Jordie and Hayley; great-niece Maya; great-nephew Joey; numerous cousins; mother-in-law Catherine Beaudette; and sister-in-law Denise (John) MacNeil. Randy attended the University of Western Ontario in London, completing his Bachelor of Arts. In 1975 he returned to Sarnia, joining his father as an insurance and real estate broker, owner and partner. Following the sale of the family business in 1990, he moved to London as the Manager of Insurance and Risk for the City of London. He continued in the insurance and related risk management field throughout his career, from Marketing Manager, to VP of Marketing and Sales for Frank Cowan Co., ending with VP of Sales for Aon Reed Stenhouse. During this time, he taught a variety of courses at the Insurance Institute of Ontario, as well as holding positions of director and treasurer. Randy was proud of his contribution as a member of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Administration Issues Advisory Group “Improving Administration of the Ontario Building Code”, now known as Bill 124. He was a featured speaker across Ontario, providing seminars on risk management and the building inspection process. He retired in 2008. Randy AKA ‘Fish’ remained an avid sports enthusiast throughout his life: hockey, lacrosse (1971 Provincial Champion), 2 pitch, racquetball, and golf, from “The Old Course” in Scotland to British Columbia, as far south as Saint Kitts with a visit to the Masters thrown in and three holes in ‘one’. He loved the “Hacker’s” guys at The Oaks. Randy enjoyed attending Formula 1 races and races at the Delaware Speedway. His winter hobby was stained glass, creating his own patterns and gifting his pieces to family and special friends. For Randy there were no half measures. He was fiercely independent and gave his all. Family and friends meant everything, including his 4-legged walking buddy Dexter. Growing up there was Gary Scheiers, Wayne Merrick, Randy Evans, Kenny Gilbert and Gord Currie; fishing buddies Brian Bissell and Fergie; his UWO Zoo guys Ev, Smitty, Skidoo, Rebound, O.J. Buck, Russ, Lumpy, and Willie. Later came the ‘Breakfast Club’ with Gerry and Dave. These friendships enriched his life immensely. He was the consummate cheerleader, happy to acknowledge accomplishments of others, including Patti’s golf and artistic endeavours. Randy’s family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate Dr. Mario Elia, as well as the staff at LHSC: Medicine Blue Team, Neurology, and especially Dr. Shiraz Malik and the Palliative Care Team. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at an appropriate time. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Randy are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex or a charity of your choice.
We are comforted knowing that Randy Fisher knows who Randy Fisher is again. What a glorious thought.

I was fortunate enough to meet Randy and Dexter on their walks through the neighbourhood. When my mother died in 2013, Randy created a lovely stained glass heart for me. It hangs in our kitchen window where I see it every day. Such a kind and thoughtful gift from a kind and thoughtful person. My sincere condolences.
Patti it is with sadness and shock that we write this. We have wonderful fun memories from Municipal Finance Conventions and then at Volkers on Hyde Park. A life ended far too soon. We wish you comfort in the memories you have. Our thoughts are prayers are with you. Chris & Volker
Patti, we have only met a couple of times so you likely won't remember me, but I am just learning of Randy's passing and wish to extend to you my deepest condolences. I knew Randy for many years, as we are both from Sarnia and always had the highest regard for him. I know this has to be a difficult time for you but just want you to know my thoughts are with you.

Patti and Family, we are truly saddened by the loss of Randy. He will always be remembered as a wonderful and cheerful person who made Leigh and my initial time as new members at The Oaks a very welcoming one. His leadership in keeping Couples Night going was very respectable and to this day has never been matched. Randy was as much a natural gentleman as he was a natural "slicer" in golf. He often joked that his goal was to be as good as Patti was in golf, but also joked that perhaps he is setting his expectations too high. Randy will be is truly missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Randy aka Fish. In looking back , I was VERY fortunate to have had Randy as a room mate and friend at university and offer my sincere condolences to Patti and family.
Truly saddened to hear of the passing of my old pal, Randy. I have many fine memories of our friendship from the insurance days and the many golf games we were able to share over the years. Dear Patti, Your tender caring for Randy as Alzheimers gradually took him from you was incredible. Because of your abilities you looked after him at home way past the point most people could have. Before his illness took hold, you and Randy were a couple others could see were clearly in love. You wanted the best for each other. Know that when you hear a song by his favourite band, he is close by. It is wonderful to know he is whole again and knows who he is. RIP Randy.

Patti both Marilyn and I want to express our sincere condolences on the loss of Randy. I have so many great memories of him at the Oaks many with both of us laughing. He was the definition of what a gentleman is. He will be missed.
Dear Patti & Family. We are so sorry for your loss. Randy was a gentleman, and a gentle man, who loved his family and enjoyed having people to share his many stories with. The common thread for so many of those stories was Golf. His pride in your achievements on the golf course was great. I think he may have been more nervous than you on some of the playoffs. I have such vivid and positive memories of my cousin Randy during the time we lived in Ontario. They involve shenanigans, laughter and loads of energy. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing and the challenges he faced in the latter years of his life. I will see him shining bright in the night skies.
Much sadness in my heart today. I loved him dearly. I know he is in a happier and better place. He definitely was a cousin whom we all loved and have many fond memories. Love you Randy.

Patti My condolences to you. I was sorry to read of Randy's passing. I worked and played with Randy when we were both employed by the City of London. I was interested to read about all the things Randy was involved in since leaving the City. He was a good guy and will be missed.
