Trevor Michael Binns

March 13, 2020

After a long-fought battle with health issues, Trevor passed away at Toronto General Hospital on March 13, 2020, at age 34. Loving husband of Marcy Hewson. Beloved son of Mike Binns and Marilyn Grigg (Mike). Cherished brother of Carly Binns (Mark). Trevor will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and co-workers. Special thanks to Aunt Fran for her care and compassion as Trevor’s go-to nurse. Thanks to Deloitte for their empathy and support of Trevor and his family throughout the years. Many thanks to Dr. Maral Ouzounian, Dr. Adriana Luk and the team at Toronto General, as well as to Dr. Holger Buchholz, Dr. Darren Freed and the team at University Hospital in Edmonton. Trevor was born and raised in London, ON. He studied accounting at Carlton University in Ottawa before heading to Hult University in London, UK and Shanghai, China to complete a Masters in International Business. He began working for Deloitte in 2013, working his way up to be a Manager in Risk Advisory and Chief of Staff to the Global Management Leader. His colleagues remember him for his unwavering positivity and calm demeanor. Trevor loved travelling, hockey, golf, animals and fishing. He loved his friends and family most of all and was always thinking of us. He was incredibly friendly and easy-going, making friends everywhere he went. His last week was spent in Toronto working on a project for the Olympics, he went to a Leaf’s game (they won!) and he saw friends he hadn’t seen in months. He lived a good life on his terms and was the strongest person we ever met. Those wishing to donate in memory of Trevor are asked to consider the George Bray Sports Association (which enabled Trevor to play the game of hockey which he so loved) or Genetic Aortic Disorders Association Canada.
