John Kovacs

September 8, 2019

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren, at University Hospital on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Beloved husband of Emily Kovacs. Loving father of Emily and John. Proud grandfather of Mikaela (David), Kiana (Perry) and Connor. John was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1956. They worked hard throughout the years to build a life here, coming with nothing to a new country. He was always very proud of their life accomplishments – his property and cottage at Grand Bend, his children, his grandchildren and his marriage of 61 years. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with family, being social with the Hungarian community and enjoying a drink with some Hungarian food. He will be remembered for his humour, love of cooking and baking, and artistic talents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation – Kidney Clinical Research Unit or spend an hour of your time with the elderly.

Emily and Family, It was with a heavy heart that we found out about your father. Both Tom and I have lost our parents so we understand how much sorrowful heartbreak, and distress everyone must still be feeling. Our deepest condolences and prayers are with you, and especially with your mother. We hope your heavy hearts may find peace and eventual happiness again. Your father was a strong and good, let that strength and goodness get you through these next days and months. Tom and I offer all of Emily's family our sympathy and understanding at this your time of need. Love Rosemary Vamos & Thomas Drowns (Friends of Emily)

Mrs. Kovacs, Emily, John .... I am very sad and my thoughts are with all of you. You know I understand all you have been through. I know you did everything in your power to make your father comfortable. Peace will come to all of you ... slowly but surely... Peace has come your father and he will visit with my mom. God Bless.

Dear Emily and Family: Please know you are in my thoughts. When my father passes, a friend said to me "remember everything". While that didn't eliminate the pain I felt in losing him, it allowed me to eventually think of him and the wonderful life he had. Blessed be. Anne
