Austin McCabe

August 16, 2019

Austin began his life’s journey on March 27, 1925 in Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland.  He was the second child born to Fred and Matilda McCabe.

Austin is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Evelyn Carnew; his daughter Pearl (Clayton) Strickland of Florida; sister Hannah and brothers John (Alma) of N. Ireland and Isaac David (Audrey) of Australia.  Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews in N. Ireland, Canada, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

Predeceased by his mother in 1957 and father in 1984; sisters May and Florence; and brothers Fred, Jim and Bill.

Austin dairy farmed in N. Ireland until 1968.  For 3 years the family travelled through Australia and New Zealand, before settling in Mississauga, ON in 1971.  1997 – 1999 found them living in Lexington, KY.  London, ON became their home in 1999 for another 20 years.  A worldwide circle of loving friends remembers Austin for his singing, humor and above all, his love for the truth of the gospel.

Dear Evelyn & Pearl My mind travels to the first time I met you all in 1988, in your home. Truly a home in Zion. Many special memories, made precious because of oneness of spirit. Austin was a very kingdom minded man. He did so much, for which we are thankful for today.
