William Daniel Myers
June 25, 2019
This is the story of Dr. William (Bill) Myers. Bill was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Bill passed away at the age of 64, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at University Hospital. Bill was born and raised in Chatham to his parents Maureen and William Myers. He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1981. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Kathy. Together, they raised their three daughters Mallory (Ajay), Blair (Tom) and Kierstin (Luke). He spent many years providing excellent care to the residents of St. Marys, Ontario where he worked both in the hospital and his busy family medicine clinic. Bill also treasured his time on the family farm with his girls, who were the center of his world. Over the years, they made countless trips to horse shows all around the province and his favorite was always the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Bill was an avid fan of the Toronto Raptors. He was known for his sense of humour, his love of movies, golf, and butter tarts. He is predeceased by his father William and his brother-in-law Phil. He is also survived by his siblings: ML, Rick (Michelle), John (Stephanie), Kathy (Don), Karen (Rob), Stephen, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the staff at University Hospital that cared for Bill in his last few months. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to our local Make-A-Wish Foundation: >https://makeawishswo.ca/donate – When prompted, select “My gift is in Memory of” and then use “Dr. Bill Myers” as the memorial name.

Kathy and family, Some time may have passed since we have seen Bill and yourself, but the fondness remains as strong as ever. Bill was not only a doctor to me as a young person, but to our entire family as it grew. Bill was kind, compassionate, funny and so easy to talk to - the perfect combination of any doctor. We trusted you both with our lives. We are sending our sincere sympathies to you, the girls and the rest of Bill's family as you say good-bye to this incredible human being. It was an honor to call him our doctor, but more of an honor to call him a friend. Love to you all. Tracy, Darrin and boys
To Kathy, and the entire Myers Family It is with sadness I have read about Bill's death. He is the only Myers child I never knew. Maureen and I recently talked about his health crisis. He has lived the life of a true survivor and I take much from his struggle through the years. He is to be greatly admired. Please accept my condolences. Love to all the Myers family. It is a difficult time especially for Maureen. As she expressed very difficult to bury her son. You are in my prayers and heart. Love Diane Teetzel a special hug please for Stephen.
