Dr. William Langford Tew

After a long, rich life and fulfilling career in medicine, Dr. William Langford Tew died at home, in his 90th year, on Thursday, June 28, 2018, following a short illness.
Beloved husband of Anne; cherished only son of the late Dr. William Pelton Tew and Mrs. Vivian Tew of London.
Dearly loved father and best friend of Michael and Barbara Tew; beloved Grandpa of Brian and Kerri Beth Tew, Jennifer Tew Gates, and Steven Tew; and fun-loving Great-Grandpa of Grace, Mason, Charlie, and Paxton, all of Tennessee. Predeceased by a son in infancy. Sadly mourned by the Bambury, Popovich, and Allen families.
Survived by his daughter Linda Mara and her husband Steve, of London.
Following in the medical footsteps of his esteemed father and cousin, Bill completed medical school at UWO in 1953 and attained Fellowships in Obstetrics and Gynecology, maintaining his interest and delight in this “happy specialty” during his fifty-five year medical career. He considered his working years with colleagues, classmates, mentors, and students to have been part of a golden age in medical advancement and patient care, and was deeply gratified to be part of the evolution in techniques and medical standards.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, a private family service has taken place.

My deepest condolences. I will never forget how great he was to me personally and the amazing medical services he provided me.
I was quite saddened to hear of Bill's passing and my condolences to his family. The years I worked with him in Labour & Delivery and when he delivered my second daughter, I will never forget his laugh and his whistle. We always knew he was there. He was a passionate man with such special charisma! Thank you Bill, for the greatest of memories. RIP Sarah
Hi Mike and Anne. We are thinking of you in your time of loss. "Doc Tew' practically adopted us when we were coaching Little League Football...when we were just a couple of East End kids fresh out of high school....and getting Mike started on his quarterbacking career...when Mike was 12 in the early '60's.- Doc never forgot us and always kept in touch no matter where he lived. We were supposed to have a meeting with him since he moved back to London. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Doc.
I owe my health today to Dr. Tew's diligence. I will also never forget this poster on the wall in the examining room that went something like "you can never be too rich, too skinny or too far down on the table" - still makes me laugh to this day! I send my sincere condolences to Anne and family. He is from an era of medical care that we will never know again.

Dr. Tew treated us all as friends more than patients. He was a kind and caring man. He will be sadly missed. Sheila Kogon
My deepest sympathy Anne & family. Dr Tew shared in my care with Dr Hugh Allen during my pregnancy with our daughter in 1962 and then delivered our son in 1963 and went to be my Obstetrics Dr. for many years after. He was such a fun, jovial guy. I will never forget his great laugh. RIP Anita.
I worked with Dr. Tew for many years in the clinic setting. I learned much and even spent a day at his beach home. Thanks Anne for always being so sweet. May he rest in peace. Rosemary

Sorry for your loss Dr Tews father delivered my mother one of his first . Bill delivered both my children , I am forever greatfull for all he did for me.
