Georgina ‘Györgyi’ Olcsvary

On Monday, July 9, 2018, at the age of 85, Györgyi was welcomed to Heaven by God and her parents, Antal and Teréz Neuburger. On her last day of her life, Mom was at home. Our beautiful mother saw each of her three daughters, got a kiss and heard “I love you Mom” from each of us. Mom was fiercely loved and treasured by her daughters and sons-in-law: Eva (Bill) Hooymayers, Silvia (George) Olcsvary-Selby, Aniko (Mark) Forabosco, and adored by her grandchildren: Ryan Olcsvary, Michael Hooymayers, Katie Hooymayers and Rowan Forabosco. Born and raised in her beloved Hungary in 1957, during the Hungarian uprising, this patriotic young woman bravely left her country and family to come to Canada and settle in London to begin a new life. Georgina (Györgyi) will be deeply missed by her many friends and neighbours, whom she loved as they loved her back. She lived her life for her family and was proud of every one of us. We are thankful she was a part of our lives every day. We love you Mom. We will still say these words to you every day. You are in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018. Visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with service to follow. Those wishing to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the Heart Failure Clinic c/o St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation.

Hugs and prayers to all her girls, son-in-laws and grand children. The love Georgina had for each of you is simply amazing. Her pride for each was always evident. Georgina was the best neighbour one could ever have. Know we are thinking of you all!

Georgina was such a wonderful, and strong woman. We had many amazing conversations about family, friends, and life. Anytime I saw her she always had a big, beautiful smile on her face. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I met Georgina, when I started dating her daughter Sylvia. She was a very protective parent, but over the years I would see her and her family, she would talk to me, I felt always at home with her. I will miss her smile and welcoming conversation. She loved to cook and I spent many a visit enjoying her great cooking. She will missed by all of her daughters, son-in laws, grand children and all that knew her. She is in heaven with her mother. Sylvia, Aniko and Eva will be in my prayers.
