Réal ‘Ray’ Rheault

July 8, 2018

Please lift a glass to celebrate the life of Réal (Ray) Rheault, who passed peacefully at home on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the age of 88. Dad had a big personality and a quick wit. He was well-loved and appreciated, being married nearly 65 years to Julie (Juliette Myre), whom he credited with raising “his six wonderful children”: Michèle, Dennis, Gerald, Louise, Francine and Josée. Ray was deeply proud of them all, as well as of his ten grandchildren and his great-granddaughter. He was hard-working, accomplished, loyal and good humoured:  Ray was a memorable man. Please lift a glass for a life well-lived. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, July 13th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment of ashes at New Liskeard Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ray are asked to consider Rotary International or McCormick Dementia Services.

Hi everyone, Please accept our sincere condolescences for the sudden loss of your Dad, my uncle Ray .He will be missed !I have fond memories of his visits to Grandma "s at the house when your whole family would come visit in the Summer . He rented the Sunnydale cottage on lake Temiscamingue. The boat came out, fishing trips were organised... He was the life of the party, generous in nature, we would sit down at the picnic table outside and have steaks on the barbecue... I wish you all peace and courage to continue life in his memory Big hugs , Dianne and Joe xo

Uncle Ray was a special uncle. He loved the great outdoors and the Rheaults and Larocques spent many wonderful summers together. I remember the fun we had when he took the boys fishing. He was always happy and joking with us and we will miss his bigger than life presence. We raise our glasses to celebrate his life.

To my friend Josée of more than 25 years, to her sister Francine, with whom I have shared a few glasses of wine over the years, and to her sister Louise, who welcomed me into her home one Christmas I was alone, I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of your father. I never had a chance to meet him, but I heard a lot about him and how much he was "un bon vivant". His children are a great testament to his legacy. I, too, raise my glass to celebrate his life. May you take solace in the great memories you have of him.
