Shirley Smith
July 3, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Mildred Smith (Harris) on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Westmount Gardens, a life well lived for 95 years. Shirley was the loving wife of the late Adrian Smith. She was the proud mother of her two children: Wayne (Lynne) of Ingersoll and Linda Draisey (Lee) of London. She loved hearing stories about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sherri (Dwayne) Kloepfer, Scott (Jayne) Smith, Shawn (Lara) Draisey, Brandt, Nash and Hayes Kloepfer, Cooper and Hannah Smith, Claire and Adam Draisey. She was predeceased by her grandson Curtis Draisey and son-in-law George Draisey. Shirley lived all her married life in London, but her heart belonged to her birthplace Wilmot, Nova Scotia. Shirley was a generous, fun loving and hardworking woman. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends and her great sense of humour and of course her delicious meals. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Longworth Retirement and Westmount Gardens (LTC) for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Wayne, Lynne, Linda,Lee and families We send our deepest sympathies to all. Shirley was a wonderful woman. She was always giving and always had lots of laughs when we talked. What would the over the hill gang have done with out Shirley. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Please accept our condolence. 'He will actually swallow up death forever...and wipe the tears from all faces.' Isaiah 25:8; John 5:28
I am with Therapeutic Paws of Canada and I visit Westmount Gardens every Monday with my dog Kiwi. I made friends with Shirley and looked forward to talking with her every week. She had great stories and I loved her sharp wit. She was so funny. We were off for the summer so I found out today when I visited and I will surely miss her bright spirit!
