It is with great sadness we announce that Bill passed away, peacefully at home, on Monday, June 18th, 2018, in his 85th year. His loving wife of 14 years, Patricia Stephenson (née King) by his side. Bill fought COPD for many years and recently lung cancer. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Debra and husband Doug Alliston of Almonte, and son Gary Stephenson and wife Jacqui of Florida. Loving grandfather to Kyle (Sandra), Craig (Nikki), Devin (Kate) and Amanda. Great-grandfather to Logan and Quinn, who went to heaven too early, Wesley and Kayla. Dearly loved by former sister-in-law, Nanette Hobbs (Doug deceased). Fondly remembered by his nephew, Norman Stephenson of Moncton. Dearly remembered by Pat’s family: sister Donna Harris, daughter Lynda and Gary Brace and family, and son Chris and Wendy Walch and family. Dearly missed by longtime friend Jim Dickinson, as well as his cousin Joy Palmer.
Bill is predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Stephenson (née Hissa), his parents, Norman and Lillie Stephenson and his brother, Roy Stephenson.
Bill joined the City of London Police Force in 1955 and served proudly for 23 years, including several years as Detective. After leaving the Force, Bill joined GM security and worked with the company until his retirement in 1995. In his later years, Bill enjoyed woodworking, travelling to Florida, and was a member of the Police Pensioners Association.
Family and friends will be received at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. The memorial service will be conducted in the chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Carrothers officiating. Cremation has taken place. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider The Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dear Pat and family,I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I have many memories of Bill, Roy and myself back on the farm. As being the only girl in the group I got teased by both brothers but will miss him terribly. All my thoughts for Deb and Gary and their families too through this difficult time Joy Palmer
