Barbara Jaeger

April 11, 2018

Died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at University Hospital, London at the age of 84. Loving mother of Linda Fletcher (Jim) and Lore VandenAkker. Her greatest joy in life was her endless devotion to her granddaughters: Sarah Harris (Ryan), Elisa Harris, Julia VandenAkker and Krista VandenAkker (Matt). Also a very special Oma of Tammi Fletcher, Jamie Balazs (Scott), Brandon Fletcher (Selena), Shelbi Fletcher and Katie Fletcher-Ward (Jason). Loving Great Oma of Jakob, Shane, Jared, Aidan, Emma, Jacob and Kalli who never failed to put a smile on her face. Predeceased by her husband Heinz Jaeger (1959) and her brothers Tony Dewus, George Dewus and Walter Dewus (Iris) of Princeton, Indiana. Survived by nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Barbara was a long time parishioner of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She was a woman of strong faith, which carried her through many hardships in life that kept her strong to the very end. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. McKenna and the amazing staff on the 9th Floor in Sub-Acute Care. We will never forget the compassion and care given to Barbara in her final days. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 777 Valetta Street, London with visitation one hour prior. Private interment at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Barbara are asked to consider Accessible Housing London, a charity close to her heart.

Dear Lore and Linda and Family, Our hearts and prayers are with you as you cope with the passing of your Mom from this Earth. As Mom said "Barbara was a lovely person and a faithful friend over many years!" I remember your Mom as being very kind and very gentle and such a survivor. I'm sure my Dad was there to greet your Mom as she entered into Heaven and I' d like to think they are recalling together many lovely memories of times on Hibiscus Avenue. God bless you in the days ahead. Hugs Maire, Michael, Kathleen and Family
