Lucien ‘Bud’ James Jalbert

Suddenly and unexpectedly, in his 75th year, Lucien (Bud) James Jalbert passed away at University Hospital on Saturday, April 7th, 2018, with his immediate family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his wife, Susanne (Sue) Eileen Jalbert; daughter, Shauna Jalbert; and two sons, Colin and Craig Jalbert. He will also be remembered by both of his daughters-in-law, Nancy (wife of Colin) and Amberley (wife of Craig). Treasured Grandpa and Poppa to Brooke, Madison, Evan, Sheridan and Paisley. Bud will also be missed by his canine companions who have always been by his side and a part of the family. Bud is survived by his sister, Leona Start of Claresholm, Alberta. He was predeceased by his twin siblings, Don Jalbert of Claresholm, Alberta and Donnah McIntosh of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. He will also be fondly remembered by the extended “Hooperama” family of Beaver Lake. Bud will be sadly missed by many family members, friends and colleagues who have known his honesty, integrity and friendly manner. He was a compassionate and loving family man who made sure to care for others before himself. We will cherish his memory and keep him in our hearts. He will be loved and deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A celebration of Bud’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bud are asked to consider the Lung Association or the London Health Sciences Foundation – University Hospital, Cardiac Care Program.

We are both saddened to hear of Bud's sudden passing and send our condolences to Sue, Shauna, Colin, Craig and the rest of his family. He was a joy to work with, and it was a privilege to know him.

Our heartfelt condolences to Sue and family. We have been friends since our early days in Calgary and cherish the rekindling of that friendship over the past couple of years. We will always cherish our times spent at the lake and are so thankful for being able to be together in Portugal and Spain just prior to Bud's passing. He was a true friend who will be sorely missed.
Shauna and Family- I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how close you and your dad were Shauna, and what a hole this will leave. Always remember the good times, when you laughed, when you cried, when you loved really hard. Love is a gift that will last a life time, and time nor death can take that away from you. My heart goes out to you Sue and your family. I was stunned when I read about Bud. To me he was someone who enjoyed life , people and his dogs. Dear Sue and family, I met Bud on a few occasions in the Treasury department of Middlesex County he worked part time for the County approximately 17 years and what stood out about him each time he came in was his sense of humor. Very shocked to hear of his passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, may the care and love of those around you bring you comfort and peace during sad time.

We consider ourselves blessed to include Bud as not only an extended family member, but as a friend. He always made us feel welcome and expressed interest in our lives. He had a great sense of humour and a very giving nature. We are going to miss him and his smile and the twinkle in his eyes.
