Michael Antonio Fuoco
February 18, 2018
Peacefully surrounded by family at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, February 18, 2018, Michael Antonio Fuoco passed away into the presence of his Lord. Mike leaves behind the love of his life, Susan Deane-Fuoco; daughters Jasmine and Kiana Simler-Fuoco; step-children Kristin, Caitlyn and Jason Barrett; mother Marilyn Fuoco; sisters Mary Anne Robinson (Brian), Barb Ford (Grant), Sandra Smale (Gary), and Heather Monteith (Dan). Survived also by his many nieces and nephews as well as brother-in-law to Chris and Kelli Deane, Mike and Lynne Deane and Jeff and Heather Deane. Predeceased by his father Stephen Fuoco (2007). He will also be missed by his devoted dog, Tessa. Mike was born in Ottawa (November 3, 1961) but grew up in the St. Marys area. Mike was an exceptional athlete growing up and played hockey, baseball and lacrosse. He was a longtime Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, and, in general, loved all sports. He enjoyed being a DJ in his younger days sharing his love for classic rock. He was also an employee of Great Lakes Copper for over 30 years and prided himself for having perfect attendance. Mike will be remembered for his love of family, quick wit, friendship, positive attitude and his true Christian heart. Not once during his seven month struggle with cancer did he ever complain. Instead he felt blessed with great doctors, nurses, friends, neighbours, Forest City Community Church (FCCC) and the steady stream of visitors he had every day. For those of us who were able to share in the journey with Mike, his inspiration and positive attitude will continue to be a source of strength. Susan and family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who took such great care of Mike on the 9th floor at Victoria Hospital, as well as University Hospital, and the London Regional Cancer Clinic. Thanks to the many friends, neighbours, the ‘New Balance’ running club, the FCCC Village and complete strangers who helped in so many ways. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kirk Harper officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mike are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program, London Health Sciences Foundation (Victoria Hospital) or Forest City Community Church.

Susan our condolences Mike was a fine gentleman and a pleasure to work with Rest In Peace Mikey.
I experienced the pleasure of working with Mike at Wolverine Tube. He was always a person I looked up to, because he was constantly smiling and took pride in his appearance and work ethic. I was able to continue our friendship over the years at the Athletic club. No matter how many days or months had passed, Mike took the time to talk about our children and life, he acknowledged and encouraged my successes, I will miss his support. To Mike's family I send my sincere condolences. I will miss you buddy. RIP Mike
