Wilfred Thomas Green

February 2, 2018

Passed peacefully at University Hospital on Friday, February 2, 2018, after a short, courageous battle with leukemia. Wilfred was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and, after three successful careers, including a stint with the military (RCAF), he finally retired in 2006, having decided that golfing with his grandson Andrew and friends was much more fun! He is leaving behind, with loving memories, his wife, Ethel; daughter, Cyndi and her husband Stephen McLellan; and sons, Randy and his wife Anne, and Rick and his wife Brenda. Missed by his grandchildren:  Robert Green and his wife Sara; Sean Green; Andrew McLellan and his wife Caitlin; Ryan Green (Ashley); and Stephanie McLellan (Trent), and his two precious great-granddaughters, Emily and Gwyneth McLellan. Also survived by his brother, Barton Green (the late Loretta – January 2018);  nieces, Lisa Green (Charles) and Nancy Luscombe and her husband Graham; very special in-laws, Daphne and David Hanrahan and John and Darlene Kelloway; and many other supportive nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brother, Stanley Green. At Wilfred’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In Wilfred’s memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.

Aunt Ethel, Rick,Brenda; Randy, Anne, Cyndi ,Stephen, Robert, Sara,Sean, Andrew, Caitlin,Ryan,Ashley,Stephanie, Trent, Emily, Gwyneth, Daphnie, and David words can not express the loss you are feeling with a Uncle Wilf,s passing. May your memories of Uncle Wilf give you comfort. I know for Dad, myself and Charles Sara, Nancy and Graham we all have so many wonderful memories. When we share ours stories we always smile! Charles really enjoyed playing a few rounds of golf with Uncle Wilf in both Gander and Lindsay. Charles admits that Uncle Wilf was a much better golfer than himself, and because of this Charles experienced a special connection with a him. Charles has decided when he retires he will be taking up golf full time just like Uncle Wilf. Lisa's memories normally involved either herself or Uncle a Wilf getting into touble, which we would both giggle about later in private. Uncle Wilf would have wanted each of to support one another and especially for us to support Aunt Ethel. Which I am sure we will each do in our own special way. Love Bart, Lisa, Charle, Sara, Cohen, Nancy and Graham.
