Margaret Kelly

1922 – 2017

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11^th, 2017, two weeks before her 95^th birthday, at Westmount Gardens Long Term Care.   Born in Wales of the United Kingdom, she was predeceased by her sister Lena Western and brother Arthur Picton.  Cherished mother of Ann Clawson (Steve) and Rob Kelly (Helga).  Treasured grandmother of Mike Clawson (Raquel), Scott Clawson, Stephanie and Michelle Kelly.  Loving great-grandmother of Sage, Neve, Rayne and Willow Clawson.  Margaret immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her husband, Tom Kelly settling in Sarnia, Ontario where she lived and worked most of her life.  She helped with the formation of the United Kingdom Club where she made many friendships.  She was also a dedicated member of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.), Canatara Chapter, who are dedicated to enhancing the life of individuals through community supports.   She never forgot her roots – making many trips to England to visit her siblings, nieces and nephews.  She loved travelling and enjoyed many holidays with her good friend Mary.  Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She never missed those occasions where everyone was together and was always ready to have a laugh.  She was a wonderful friend to many and always ready to have a cup of tea and good conversation.  She will be loved and missed forever. We would like to thank all the staff of Westmount Gardens for all their care and compassion over the last few years.  Friends will be received by family on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 17^th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Private cremation to follow.  As expressions of sympathy, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Margaret are asked to consider the I.O.D.E. and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
