Merv was very kind to me when I was a new member of the Board of Commisioners of Police for the City of London many years ago. His patient and friendly instruction made me a much more effective Commissioner. He served the citizens of London and the law enforcement community with ability, dignity and effectiveness throughout his long and distinguished career. He will be missed.

Merv was my "second dad" growing up. Kelly and I spent countless hours with Merv in the backyard pool, on vacation, and heading up to Huntsville a couple of times too. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing and wish his family comfort and fond memories. I never got to know Kay, but I am so grateful that she brought him such happiness later in life.
