It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Bob Jez, who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, at the age of 39. Bob was a loving father of three beautiful children, a caring husband, a loyal friend, an inspiring teacher, a dedicated football coach and an unwavering Chicago Bears fan. Bob is survived by his wife, Emily; his children, Danielle, Matthew and Geneviève; his mother, Janina (Jerry) Hunter; his sisters, Teresa Jez and Anna (Cam) Newell; and his nephews, Kian and Connor Newell. He is also survived by his in-laws and other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and Poland. He will be sadly missed by his four-legged constant companion Rosie. Bob’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice and the London Regional Cancer Program, and especially to Dr. Miranda Sheppard. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at WESLEY-KNOX UNITED CHURCH, 91 Askin Street, London on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Dorchester Union Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bob are asked to consider the Jez Children Educational Trust Fund. Donations can be made at the visitation or funeral service. Bob will be remembered for his humour, generosity, kindness, loyalty, and dedication to his family. He will be dearly missed.

Emily, I am so sorry to hear that your husband has passed away. You have been very courageous helping him through his battle and creating memories for your children. My deepest condolences to Emily and the Jez family on the tragic loss of Bob. I remember Bob as a student at CCH and then as a young teacher, establishing himself in the LDCSB. An amazing teacher and coach. He knew how to read a play before it happened. He knew how to interact with his students in a way that had them respecting him as a friend. You will be missed Mr.Jez. We want to thank Mr. Jez for having taught us and others at MTS. He was such a good teacher, and created an atmosphere of lightheartedness around him that extended outside of the classroom, into the hallways of MTS, and even beyond them. We remember him for his cheery disposition and sense humour -- a welcome break from the often stressful tone of high school. We thank him and his family for the time and attention he gave us, and we are so sorry for your loss.
