My heartfelt sympathy Alice. I'd lost track of you and John for quite a while and it wasn't until my friend Rob was recently in your store that I learned of John's illness. He was a good neighbour and a good friend to me at a difficult time of transition. He listened. He was a really good listener. I also owe my friendship with John Wood and Ian Davies to him. John was predeceased by Nicky, the cat I adopted from him, and I'm sure Nicky will be there to greet him with cuddles and purrs. Jonathan, when I first met your Dad (back in 2000, I believe), just after I moved into the horridly-run apartment building on Talbot street (I'm sure you heard the stories...), you should know that there wasn't a single conversation with your Dad from that point forward that didn't revolve in some way around you and your accomplishments, often with an accompanying photo. He was so proud of you. I'm sure you know that, but it's another thing to know that he made that known to others. I deeply regret that I was unable to attend his memorial, as I was out of the country. I will have to find some other way to honour his memory. Sincerest condolences to Alice, Jonathan, and all of John's family. He was about a decent a guy as you could ever hope to meet.

Hi Alice. You don't really know me, but I'm the courier lady who often comes into your UPS store to pick up packages for lawyers. I was in there this morning and saw the notice concerning the passing of your husband. I'm so sorry to hear that. God bless you and all of your family.
