Florence Esther Gale (née Kirby)

On Tuesday, January 12, 2016, one day after her 90th birthday at University Hospital, London, Ontario, following a brief illness. Predeceased by daughter Michelle (1967), husband Frederick (1994), brother Frederick (2009), and her parents Florence May and Albert Kirby. Survived by children Karen Finnigan (Brian) and Bob Gale (Mary Jo), and sister-in-law Sylvia Kirby. Lovingly remembered grandmother of Jennifer Guiao (Elgin), Melissa Hillman (Kevin), Elizabeth Finnigan, Michael Gale, Janine Robertson (Steven) and Danny Gale (Christina), and G.G. to 10 great-grandchildren. A loving faith-filled woman who took great joy in her many friendships, and the love of her immediate and extended family. Florence was a long-time parishioner of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, London, Ontario, where she was active for many years. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends at Cherryhill in London. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, Ontario, on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario. Many thanks to the medical team on 6th floor Medicine of University Hospital, for their wonderful care of Florence in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Arthritis Society or The Lung Association.
