Kelli Margaret Shaw
June 20, 2014
Peacefully at her residence on June 20th, 2014 in her 53rd year surrounded by the love and strength of her family. Loving partner of Mark MacDonald. Beloved mother of Arleigh Shaw. Forever missed, loved and cherished by her sister Jill Parratt (Bruce), Lauren Awde, and her mother Hazel Shirley. Predeceased by her father James Lawrence Shirley, and by her husband Philip William Robert Shaw. Kelli’s own determination, bravery, love, and caring gave the family strength as she miraculously lived to the fullest throughout the cruel process of pancreatic cancer. Her life long career as a nurse at University Hospital continued with her on this journey. Thank you Kelli for the love, joy and caring you gave to your family, friends, and patients. We all love you. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Kelli are asked to please consider SARI Therapeutic Riding or the Morrison Dam Conservation Area.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. by Mary Elizabeth Frye (1932) I'm so sorry for your loss, Jill. My prayers are with you and your family. ...Deb

To see a world in a grain of sand And a heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour. As dreams are made on; and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. Our sincere condolences, Kelli was full of life and we know will be lovingly missed by her family and all those she touched. Paul & Kate Shields
Arleigh and Hazel, thinking of you at this time. Kelli was a wonderful women. May your memories of her help you through this challenging time.
I only knew Kelli by first name, until I saw the notice of her passing through the LHSC email yesterday. In 2012, I learned to run through the LHSC couch to 5 k program and I spent time with Kelli during those months of training. Kelli and I would walk together initially, but when the running started, she was ahead of the rest of us. She inspired me, when others would stop to walk, she would keep running, and so I would keep running too. She was an incredibly motivating, likeable person, my thoughts are with her loved ones.
To Mark, Arleigh and all of the Shirley family. My heartfelt condolences on Kelli's passing. I remember Fairmount days and fun times in the neighbourhood. Kelli was a warm hearted person whose presence will be missed by all. You are all in my thoughts.
Hazel, Arleigh, Jill (Bruce), Lauren & Mark, I am so sorry for your loss. Kelli was a very kind soul and special friend. We are a long way from Earl Road and Fairmount days, but I wanted to express what a good friend Kelli was to me.I have happy memories of much fun with her and our trolls. ...with heartfelt sympathy, I wish you all peace and comfort in the days ahead. Sandra Spratt

Hi Jill. I’m sorry for your loss and the pain of this time. I pray it is balanced with great memories of joy, laughter and love shared. I think about how much she accomplished, how strong she was and how proud you were of her. I believe that now is her time to spread her wings and soar like an eagle; to run and not get tired; to walk and never get weary.(Isa40:31) I believe she’s at peace and I pray peace, strength and comfort for you and your family. Grace
My deepest sympathies are with you and your family at this time Jill. I know how much you loved your sister, and from what you've said, she must have been a remarkable woman. She was a gift from heaven, whose purpose was to make this world understand what love, friendship, goodness, and family was all about. Goodness belongs to heaven, and I know she is watching from there, bestowing her beautiful smile upon everyone I hope that knowing how special she was will be a comfort to you. It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you'll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. I am praying for strength and comfort for you and your family. Love Angella Norman
