Peacefully in the arms of her daughter and son-in-law at University Hospital, on Sunday, June 1st, 2014, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Jim Hewson (1991). Loving mother of Jill Hewson (Allan Wright) and Jan Hewson (Ian Martin). Will be fondly remembered by many family and friends. Ruth was an active member of the London Kiwanis Seniors Community Centre enjoying both art and ceramics classes. Special thanks to the staff of the University Hospital Emergency Department and the 4th Floor for their care and support. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ruth are asked to please consider The Manitoba Follow-up Study Fund.

Jill and Jan, we are so sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth. She was such an extra-ordinary lady. I always looked forward to her Christmas card which she faithfully sent every year. Our prayers are with you.
Jill and Jan we are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing.She lived a long and active life.She always kept in touch and was excited to hear about our family.She is now free of pain and with those she loved who went on before.Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn your dear mother.
Jill, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom, Ruth. It was ALWAYS a pleasure to see her smiling face in my office where you always brought her to renew her insurance. How wonderful that she had such a long and active life in her own home and had her own car. Bless you for taking such good care of her !! Danny
