Suddenly at University Hospital on Sunday May 18th, 2014 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Johanna (Van Boxtel) for 60 years. Loving father of John (Cindy) Van Lierop, Jeff (Penny) Van Lierop, Joannie (Ric) Cramer, and father-in-law of David Dixon. Pre-deceased by daughter Sylvia Dixon (2011). Loving Opa of Nicole, Shauna, and Chris Van Lierop; Josh, Adam and Noah Van Lierop; and Brooke Cramer. Sadly missed by many siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews in Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands. A special thank you to Carrie from VON for your caring support. A memorial service will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9-11 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jeff are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Please accept my sincere condolences to Joannie, Ric and Brooke on the passing away of Mr. Van Lierop. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
My deepest sympathies to the Van Lierop family at the loss of their father whom I always referred to as "Pa". Just a few years ago, my dear friend Sylvia VanLierop-Dixon passed away and now her father has gone to join her in heaven. Sending big hugs to my dear "Ma" VanLierop, one of the strongest women I know; and to Joannie Cramer-Van Lierop, Jeff, & John, their spouses, David Dixon and all the grandkids. My memories of your Dad are with him always smiling and cracking some great one-liners. I always felt like one of the family in your home, a place full of love and joy, and my heart breaks for all of you. You are in my prayers and thoughts, with love and sympathies. xo

Mrs. Van Lierop, I was saddened to hear of Mr. Van Lierop's passing when you called today. I will certainly miss seeing him, but I'll also miss your telephone calls! You two were such an inspiration for all married couples. Such a pleasure to see! My thoughts are with you. Michelle (from SJHC)
