Surrounded by family at University Hospital on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 in his 61st year. Loving spouse and best friend of Diane Bates. Cherished father of Aimee (Paul) Leveck, Sara-Lou Bates (Julien Capel), Eric (Victoria) Kimberley, Megan Kimberley (Matthew Nield) and “his boy Jack”. Proud grandfather of Julia Bates and Alicia, Ethan and Jacob Leveck. Survived by mother-in-law Marjory Evans, siblings Bev Nyman (Gord Martin), Kathy (Whitney) Chin, Marilyn Bates (Wayne Ross) and Wesley (Marian) Bates and siblings-in-law Tom (Jan) Evans and Donna (Gary) Proctor. Predeceased by parents Jim and Frances Bates, father-in-law Ralph Evans and brother-in-law Robert Nyman. Lovingly remembered by many extended family members, friends, neighbours and long time friend John Orchard (Jan Martin). Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the celebration of life will be conducted on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment at Robin’s Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Prostate Research (via the London Health Sciences Foundation).

We were trully shocked to hear of George's passing. I recall when we worked at Trailmobile and he introduced this new friend, Diane, at our Christmas party. The start of something great. We will sorely miss Georges easy smile. Nash, Tyler, Tania and Jeff
