Passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital on Monday, April 1st, 2013 at the age of 78. Born in Maida, Catanzaro, Italy. Beloved husband and soulmate of Maria (Martellotti) for 56 years. Cherished father of Popina Daniella Caputo (Guido) of Kilworth and Isabelle Lisa Serratore-Pimentel, all of London. Loving Nonno of Sonia (Rui), Jonathan, Jason and Justin. Much loved brother of Pietro (Lina) of London, Raffaele (Gina) of Toronto, Angela Sperando (Mike) of Pennsylvania, USA, Joe (Christina) of London, Domenic (Connie) of Woodbridge and John (Santina) of Woodbridge. Dear brother-in-law of Maria Custodia Depace of Italy, Francesco Martellotti of London, Giacomo Monteleone of Woodbridge, Maria Martellotti of London and Pino Martellotti (Vittorina) of Italy. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Pietro and Ippolita and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Maria, Concetta (Vincenzo), Giovanni, Placido, Vincenza (Pietro), Annunziata and Lina (Sebastiano). Francesco immigrated to Canada in 1954 arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Francesco worked for the City of London for 32 1/2 years. He also built and owned his own restaurant. He will be long-remembered as a very loving and giving husband, father and Nonno. He had a very strong work ethic and had a love for life. He was happiest being surrounded by family and friends and when he tended to his garden. Francesco fought courageously until the very end. A special thank you to all those involved in his care at Victoria Hospital. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 345 Lyle Street, London, on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at St. Peter’s Holy Family Chapel Mausoleum. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Frank are asked to consider St. Mary’s Catholic Church Restoration Fund or The War Amps.

In life he was a wonderful husband, father, nonno, zio and friend. In death he will watch over all who loved him. He fought courageously, but God had another plan for him. He has taken him into his eternal garden. I'm sure he didn't want you to watch him suffer any longer. May he rest in peace, and may the Lord give you strength to bear his loss.
