MURPHY, James A. – At University Hospital on Monday, December 24th, 2012, James A. Murphy, of London, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis D. (Carr) Murphy (2009). Loving father of Glenn (Kathi), Susan (Dennis) and Jim (Cathy). Cherished grandfather of Jason (Cait), Jennifer (Paco), Erika (Jamie), Jon (Kailey), Greg, Courtney and soon to be a great-grandfather. Dear brother of Annie, Chris, Mary and predeceased by his brother John. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and by his dear friend Clara. Memorial visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. I always enjoyed the stories Sue shared with us at work about your dad.He was a real character! We had so much fun when he came to our office and took Sue and I out for lunch last summer.He was quite a gentleman. So sorry for your loss. Monica Gillis
My heart goes out to all the members of the Murphy family. I hope you find solace in this difficult time.
Our outmost sincere sympathy to all the Murphy family. We were saddend to hear of the loss of James, your Father /Grandfather. Many shared stories of him by both Sue and Glenn reafirm how treasured he was. Thinking and praying for you all.
My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. He was quite a funny gentleman and since I've known him always lived life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed but always in your hearts.
We are sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Neighbors from many years ago, our children had many happy times particularly with Jim Jr. With sincere sympathy, Marjorie and Duncan as well as Dave (Windsor) and John (Oakville)
Our deepest sympathy of thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Big Jim was truly a fantastic father, grandfather and husband. His grin was contagious and his generosity unsurpassed. He will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have him in their lives and be remembered in all our aching hearts forever!
