Suddenly and peacefully one day short of his 93rd birthday, Murray Sparkes of Oshawa passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Pat (2003) after 60 years of marriage. Murray leaves behind his sisters, Norma Kasaloo (Ants), Ruth Frost (Frank) all of Guelph, Ellie Petersen (Carsten) of Penticton BC; children Fran Ramsden (Dave) of Canmore AB, Christine Anderson (Peter) of Summerland BC, Howard “Howie” Sparkes (Judy) of London; grandchildren Sean, Scott (Erin nee Rickbeil), Denise, Matthew, Hilary, Melanie and great grandson Elliott “Smiley” Anderson. Murray was a lifelong resident of Riverside Drive in Oshawa and enjoyed 52 summers on Chandos Lake, Apsley, Ontario. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service for Murray at Mount Lawn Reception Centre, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Friday, July 6th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Murray’s choice for donations would be to the Cancer Society of your choice.
