Hi Gord and Brian, I received an email yesterday and was informed that Yvonne had passed away. I still only partially believe the message, but I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of her and you. When we were young and in High School, Yvonne and Audrey took me under their wing. I was new to the school and kind of awkward. I certainly wasn’t popular or cool and I didn't have much athletic talent. Yvonne befriended me and coaxed me into playing basketball and volleyball for GBSS. Needless to say, I wasn't very good at either and Yvonne would spend countless hours in the gym with me after school practicing. I admired Yvonne for her natural grace, athleticism and her willingness to mentor me on and off the court. I am not sure of the circumstances of Yvonne's death, but I believe that people are defined by not one, but of all ages and stages of their lives. For me, Yvonne was a good friend, a worthy opponent, a gifted athlete and a kind soul. I will always remember her as such. I am incredibly sorry to hear the news of Yvonne’s death. I hope that you will accept and pass along my heartfelt condolences to your respective families. Diana xo

Yvonne was a great friend who was always there if you needed her even just to lend a ear to listen. When she walked into a room it always seemed brighter with her smile. If she could have realized how many lives and hearts she touched of the many people around her, it may have made things better for her. I know you are in a much better place now and hope that you are happy at last. You will always be in my heart. xoxoxo
