It is with great sadness that the family of Shannon Nunez, age 44, announces her passing on December 8th, 2011. Shannon will be dearly missed and forever loved by the pride and joy of her life, her beautiful and talented daughter, Jessica “Pumpkin” and by her husband and best friend of 17 years, Carlos “Losie”. She is predeceased by her mother, Judy, and will be forever loved and missed by: her father, Patrick, and his partner, Donna; her parents-in-law, Enrique and Maria; her siblings: Marnie, Michael, Scott and Rachel; her sister-in-law, Shelly; her brothers-in-law: Jorge and Mak; her cherished nieces and nephews: Jordyn “Jordalino”, Matthew “Phew”, Danielle “Dawdly-Doo”, Caleigh “Caleigh Baleigh”, Wenceslao “Wenchi” and Selena “Sele”; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends. Shannon worked for 18 years at Lambeth Animal Hospital where she enjoyed the many friendships of the clients, her boss and her colleagues. She also loved the countless hours spent at the Dance Extreme Studio where she proudly watched her daughter dance and where she formed a great many friendships with her “Dance Extreme Family”. Shannon maintained her sense of humour right up to the end. She never gave up hope and she never gave up her fight. Special thanks to her family and friends for their amazing support and friendship both before and during her battle with cancer. You have all touched her life in a special way! She hopes that you will smile and laugh when you think of her, and that you will remember all the good times you shared. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Shannon’s life will take place at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. This is Fran Turner's daughter in Calgary and I just wanted to say on behalf of all my brothers, we are so very sorry for your loss. Patrick Orcutt you've been on my mind and I haven't seen or talked to you since my momma's wake 7 years ago. I would love to reconnect with you ... please accept our love and prayers across the miles at the loss of your dear daughter Shannon, whom my mother adored. I know that Fran, Judy and a bunch of other euchre playing relatives are celebrating her arrival. Love Kelly
We were lucky to have known Shannon as the welcoming but professional face and voice of Lambeth Animal Hospital. She always gave you confidence that your pet would receive special attention and expert care. We've missed her cheery presence and are saddened by her passing. Carlos & Jessica, very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and mother. She sounded like a very lovely lady with all the wonderful condolences written here. We didn't get the chance to meet your wife but her journey and battle with breast cancer was always on our minds and close to our hearts. We were always hopefully she would beat the cancer. Our thoughts are with you and your daughter for the days ahead and hope the memories of Shannon will get you through this difficult time. Chris and Denise McLennan
Shannon will always be part of my lovely childhood memories of Ladybrook Crescent. Although I was lucky to talk to her at the Lambeth Animal Clinic, Shannon will always be a beautiful little girl with a fountain of blond hair. Pat, you and your family are in my thoughts. Louise Lawler Coumans
Shannon, you were and are demonstration of pure courage and strength. Your spirit and inspiration will always be with us. Our prays and love are with you Jessica, Carlos, the Orcutt and Nunez families. With love, Jasmine, Kiana and Isabelle
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the illness and ultimate loss of my little God daughter, Shannon. I will always regret losing contact so many years ago when I left Ontario for BC. When I look at her picture here, I can see the beautiful blue eyes of the tiny little girl in a picture I took of her sitting on her grandmother's staircase in PEI. I loved her as a baby and toddler, and I'm sure she grew into a wonderful woman....daughter, sister, wife, friend, and above all, a mother. I am extending my deepest sympathies to her family, and a personal note of sadness and love to her father, Pat, my friend from my first 3 years in Canada. My thoughts are with you all. Cecilia Danaher
Carlos, Jessie, Pat & family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic time.
Mike, Scott and family. We are saddened by the loss of you beloved sister and best friend. Time will heal but your memories will last a life time. Brian & Carrie
God bless Shannon, Carlos, Jessica and all our family... Dawn and Gregory
It's been 3 years and not one day has gone by where I don't think of you and the memories we shared. I miss those Sunday mornings when Jessica and I would sneak into your room at 7am and cuddle with you and Carlos. I'm sorry I wasn't present in the time when you were going through a hard time.. I didn't realize the severity and I'm finding it hard to forgive myself for not being there. I love you, Jessica and Carlos so much for treating me as your own daughter, taking me on family trips, inviting me to Jessica's dance shows, and showing me unconditional love. You have raised me as one of your own and I've never been so thankful. I miss you more every day... still thinking of you.. Rest in peace sweet angel

I was saddened by Shannon's passing. I have known Carlos for many years. I know the love he had for Shannon. He always talked about her positive attitude towards life and her love for Jessica. My sincere thoughts and prayers to you and your families at this difficult time.
Our families are all so saddened by Shannon's passing. Throughout Shannon's long career at Lambeth Animal Hospital, all of our pets have been and continue to be under their care. For many years it was Shannon who welcomed us when we arrived and it was Shannon who was a key part of the team that we knew would take great care of our furry family members. Our thoughts and prayers now go out to Shannon's family at this very difficult time. May the memories of your loved one comfort you now and forever. Shannon, you will be missed. A special good bye from Oliver, Roxie, Relay, Whisper and Molly.
It is with extreme sorrow that we hear about the passing of Shannon. We knew Shannon for years as we took our dog to Lambeth Animal Hospital for care. She was always so friendly and caring and she used to be so good in dealing with all of us. Years after our dog passed away I would call Shannon periodically regarding several other small rodent pet problems or I would call her about an injured bird etc. She always remembered me and treated me with the outmost compassion. We had many great conversations as we compared stories and experiences about our daughters , vacations etc. Shannon will be so missed by everyone who had the privilege to know you!
The Nicol family would like to pass along their condolences to the Orcutt and Nunez families. We first met the Orcutts when they moved into the townhouse on Ladybrook Crescent and our families remained friends and stayed in touch when they moved to Westmount. Shannon was a great lady and will be thoroughly missed.
Still can't believe this happened. Life does go by way too fast. Just thinking of the Orcutt Backyard Olympics and it seems like it was yesterday. Always remember the good times. Carlos and Jessica sorry for your loss Shannon will be in your hearts forever. GordO and family.
Shannon you will always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss hearing your voice when we call Lambeth Animal Hospital. Carlos and Jessica, you are both in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless. Maggie & Angus
Shannon: you were always the first person I talked to when phoning about an issue with one of my dogs. I will remember our many conversations, your laughter and the way you would calm me down. You were a bright spot in my visits and I will miss that. My condolences to your family.
Shannon -we will always remember your kindness, warmth and of course - your laugh. You showed such strength and courage in your battle and we will always be in awe of all you did during your illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, but know you will watch over them now as you did all along. God be with you till we meet again.
It was my privilege to have known Shannon through her incredible work at Lambeth Animal Hospital. Her compassion, respect and humour added so much to the visits and phone calls. I will happily smile when remembering these times with Shannon, as she has asked. My thoughts and prayers are with you Jessica, Carlos, Susan, Lindsay and Carrie
Shannon There’s a space in our lives where you used to be, warm, witty and gifted with a great sense of humour. Talking with us as we waited for the cats to come out of Susan’s care, you would regale us with the romance of Argentina, your pride in family and your love of living things. The last few months have been so very difficult, and when you passed we wept, but part of it was in the joy that your suffering was over, You will be sorely missed by the folks that thought they were going to Lambeth for their pets’ sake, when in truth, it was to catch your smile and hear your laughter. You will always be in our thoughts. Ric and Chris Wellwood
Shannon, you were an amazing women. Your friendliness and laughter brightened Lambeth Animal Hospital. We will miss you tremendously. To Carlo and Jessica and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
Shannon- your courage throughout your battle was truly inspirational. You are in fact now and always "the bionic woman" in my eyes. We shall meet again some day. Jessica and Carlos she will be forever with you- forever dance for her Jessie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Terri
Shannon - I hope you know how important your friendship was to me. I want you to know that I meant it when I told you that your courage made me feel very humble. Carlos, Jessica, Marnie and family I am thinking of you. Shannon - until we meet again! Love Joan and Bob

Shannon was a wonderful friend, I have known her since she started at Lambeth Animal Hospital and we always shared stories and laughs. We used to see each other every morning heading across Exeter Rd to drop the kids off at sitters and her dropping Jessica off at school--we used to laugh that it was because we were both running on the same schedule--late! I will miss her dearly and my deepest condolenses go out to her family, co-workers and friends. We are all blessed to have known her.
